10 of the World's Weirdest Flowers That Literally Look Like Nothing You've Seen Before

Florists around the world are always on the lookout for new and interesting flowers to add to their bouquets. Flower Club has put together a list of strange flowers that you won't find at your Melbourne's Florists. From unusual plants to bizarre animals, these 10 flowers are stranger than fiction. Unfortunately, none of these flowers are currently available in Melbourne, but they're sure to get your creative juices flowing!

Here we discussions about 10 types of flowers :-

1. Monkey Face Orchid (Dracula simia)

Monkey Face Orchid is named after the monkey face shape that is prominently displayed on the petals. The flower doesn't look exactly like a monkey's face, but it does have some features that might make you think otherwise. For one, the flowers are brightly coloured and they are decorated with large, protruding mouthparts. This makes the orchid look a bit like a monster from a horror movie. Overall, this flower is definitely something different and it will add an element of surprise to your garden.

2. Bat plant (Tacca integrifolia)

This flower is named after its resemblance to a bat's wings. It grows in tropical regions around the world and is known for its strangely shaped leaves and flowers. The leaves are long and thin, with a blade-like shape. The flowers are small, but they have a bulbous shape that looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. The flowers come in clusters of twenty to forty and resemble bats’ faces while the white bracts above look like they’re wearing a hat. The plant grows up to three feet tall and has striking black petals that are shaped like wings.

3. Corpse Flower (Rafflesia keithii)

The corpse flower is a flower that is literally made out of corpses. The flowers grow on the corpses of other insects, and the process of creating these flowers takes about two years. The flowers themselves are quite impressive, with long petals that resemble human skin. They also have large, dark eyes that stare straight ahead. Despite their appearance, the corpse flower is not poisonous.

4. Snake’s Head (Fritillaria meleagris)

Snake’s Head (Fritillaria meleagris) is a wildflower that looks like nothing you’ve seen before. The flower has a head of a snake, with long, twisted neck and poisonous fangs. The flowers grow in temperate regions throughout the world, including North America. The snake’s head flower is one of the weirdest plants in the world, and it’s also one of the most beautiful.

5. Swaddled Babies (Anguloa uniflora)

Swaddled Babies is a strange looking flower that is native to the rainforests of Central and South America. It looks like nothing you've seen before, with its creamy white petals encased by a light green mantle. The flowers grow in clusters on tall woody stems. Some people believe that the Swaddled Babies flower is an example of convergent evolution. This means that the flowers evolved from a common ancestor that was adapted to different environments. In this case, the flowers evolved to look different in order to attract pollinators. The Swaddled Babies flower is unusual and beautiful, and it is worth checking out if you are ever in the area.

6. Snap Dragon Seed Pod (Antirrhinum majus)

The snap dragon seed pod is a flower that literally looks like nothing you've seen before. It has a circular shape and is covered in small, sharp spikes. The spikes are what makes the flower look strange, because they give it a somewhat thorny appearance. The snap dragon seed pod is related to the rhinum family of plants. This plant grows in temperate regions throughout the world.

7.  Flying Duck Orchid (Caleana major)

This strange flower looks nothing like anything else in the plant world, and it's likely to confuse even the most experienced botanist. The flying duck orchid is a member of the orchid family, and as its name suggests, it has a wingspan that reaches up to two feet. The petals are also unusual in that they are shaped like a duck's wings. The flowers are pollinated by bees, but unfortunately there's no such thing as a flying duck orchid bee! Despite its strange appearance, the flying duck orchid is actually quite rare and can be found only in Ecuador and Colombia.

8. Corpse Lily (Amorphophallus titanum)

The Corpse Lily is a plant that definitely lives up to its name. This monster of a plant only blooms infrequently, making it one of the world's weirdest flowers. It's often made famous in the movie Dennis the Menace where it was used as an example of a plant that looks nothing like what people are used to seeing. In fact, when it does flower, it can often make local and sometimes global headlines.

9. White Egret Orchid (Pecteilis radiata)

The White Egret Orchid is a bizarre flower that looks nothing like the typical flowers you see. The petals are white, and they have a green stripe running through the center. The orchid grows in the rainforest of Central America, and it is one of the world's rarest flowers. If you're ever in the area and want to see this strange flower for yourself, be sure to check out the White Egret Orchid garden in Belize City.

10. Voodoo Lily (Dracunculus vulgaris)

These plants are native to Central America and South America, and they look nothing like the other flowers in their region. They grow in clusters of three or more, and their leaves are shaped like human feet with toes pointing backwards. The flowers themselves are tiny - only about 1/8 inch wide - and they have a purple or black cape around them. The nectar they produce is used to make ethanol, so people in the region traditionally used them as remedies for everything from headaches to broken bones.
